Description

Earthquake’s Minime P8v2 subwoofer is a stylish and ultra-compact subwoofer with a superb low frequency response. The powerful Class D amplifier coupled with the patented SLAPS passive radiator enables this subwoofer to reproduce frequencies down to 27Hz. The MiniMe P8v2 sports massive upgrades over the previous generation. The new SLAPS-M8 passive radiator doubles the excursion potential thus increasing subharmonic output by 40 percent. This compact home audio subwoofer is the ideal choice for discerning users who want an elegant and stylish subwoofer without compromising performance or power.

The XLT (Xtra Long Throw) woofer in MiniMe v2 subwoofers effectively translates electrical energy into movement. The strong mechanical design is the result of radical over dimensioning of all components. The XLT motor structure allows extreme movement, without physical deformation or reduced reactive electromagnetic coupling. The strong reactive electromagnetic coupling ensures that the device remains compression-less and the very mobile suspension will not slow it mechanically. The intelligent and robust design means that the woofer is always electrically controlled by the amplifier. The result is superior transient response and dynamics.

SLAPS is how the P8v2 amplifier’s high performance can be translated into dominating LFE. SLAPS is a patented system that dramatically increases subwoofer efficiency and capability for ultra low frequency reproduction. SLAPS stands for Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System. As the name indicates, SLAPS is built symmetrically which distinguishes it from traditional passive devices. This one of kind system integrates identical components in its suspension and design ensuring the unit is moving identically in both directions. The revolutionary efficiency and performance are the result of the pneumatic coupling between SLAPS and the active driver. SLAPS overcomes the limitations known from conventional closed and ported designs that prevent radical excursion. The unique design allows the active driver compression free movement resulting in a deep, dynamic, and hard-hitting bass response without annoying port noise distortion.

Developed and rationally produced in Earthquake’s own factory, the P8v2 amplifier’s output section is built around a unique Class D technology. It uses an efficient and base-optimized switch-routine yielding unusually powerful control over the high-EMF XLT woofer. The amplifier is equipped with four high ampere discrete switching devices for high and continuous current. The oversized 320W amplifier has an efficiency of 90% which means that the amplifier generates minimal heat even under harsh and continuous operation. Earthquake’s unique Class D design is distinguished by high performance and superb bass control. Even the most complex source material is reproduced accurately and articulated.

MiniMe P8v2 is covered in deep luxurious black piano lacquer. The cabinet finish begins with a thorough sanding and priming followed by multiple applications of black lacquer with additional fine sanding between layers. The cabinet is then finished with a smooth, high gloss clear coat. The elegant piano lacquer complements its compact modern design and in a sculptural way adds finesse and exclusivity to your home.
